This tour begins with a scenic chartered shuttle from sea-level in Port Angeles to 5,242 feet elevation at the Hurricane Ridge Visitor Centre. During the 45-minute drive, guests will watch the terrain transition from a lush temperate forest to mountainous terrain. Upon arriving at the Hurricane Ridge, there will be 20-30 minutes allotted for lunch and exploring the Visitor Centre.
After lunch, your guide will lead a 60-90 minute guided tour along the Cirque Rim Trail (flat-paved 0.5 miles), High Ridge Trail (gravel & paved 1 mile), and other trails as time permits. Guests have the option to participate on one or all of the hiking trails as there are options to turn back for the Visitor Centre at each junction. Otherwise, guests can explore on their own or simply enjoy the views and exhibits from the well-positioned Visitor Centre. Throughout the tour, your guide will discuss the park's natural history, flora and fauna, and identify landmarks. Overall, the group will have approximately two hours atop Hurricane Ridge pending road and weather conditions.
Included in the tour price are the Olympic National Park entrance fees, roundtrip transportation, and trained naturalist hiking guide. Picnic meals are available for purchase for $12 per passenger, which include a build your own sandwich, chips and trail mix and bottled water. Otherwise, there are food and beverages available for purchase inside the Hurricane Ridge Visitor Centre. Outdoor activewear, extra layers, and comfortable walking/hiking shoes are recommended.
