Available every Wednesday and Saturday from 12:30pm to 4:30pm from May 15 - August 31, 2019. This tour is also available on Saturday, September 7 and Saturday, September 14, 2019.
This tour begins with a 35-minute chartered shuttle from the Port Angeles waterfront into the towering old growth forest and stunning mountains that surround Lake Crescent in Olympic National Park. Upon arrival at Lake Crescent, there will be 20-30 minutes allotted for lunch, visiting the Lake Crescent Lodge, and nearby lakefront viewing areas.
After lunch, your naturalist hiking guide will lead a 60-90 minute guided tour to Marymere Falls, a stunning 90-foot waterfall. The two mile hike is primarily flat, well-maintained, however, there is a set of nature stairs to reach the viewpoints of the falls, gaining 200 feet elevation. Guests have the option to participate on the guided hike or explore the Lake Crescent Lodge and nearby trails on their own. There are also kayaks available for rent (subject to the Lodge's availability). Throughout the tour, your guide will discuss the park's natural history, flora and fauna, and identify landmarks. Overall, the group will have approximately two hours at Lake Crescent pending road and weather conditions.
Included in the tour price are the Olympic National Park entrance fees, roundtrip transportation, and trained naturalist hiking guide. Picnic meals are available for purchase for $12 per passenger, which include a build your own sandwich, chips and trail mix and bottled water. Otherwise, there are food and beverages available for purchase inside the Lake Crescent Lodge Gift Shop. Outdoor activewear, extra layers, and comfortable walking/hiking shoes are recommended.
