Non-Reserved Travel

Vehicles without Reservations

If you are unable to make a reservation online due to a sold out sailing, or you would like to have flexible travel plans, a portion of every sailing is available on a first-come, first-served basis for drive-up vehicles.

Please Note: Non-reserved vehicles will load in order of arrival after reserved vehicles until the car deck is full. This may result in wait times for non-reserved vehicles.

To determine potential advance wait times for first-come, first-served vehicle space, please phone your departure terminal.

Walk-on and Bicycle Passengers without Reservations

Reservations are not required for walk-on or bicycle passengers (with the exception of Canadian Thanskgiving/Crabfest Weekend, in early October). Tickets can be purchased prior to boarding on the day of travel at the ticket window in the terminal. If you are traveling as a walk-on or bicycle passenger, please arrive at your departure terminal 30 minutes ahead of the sailing time.

For Victoria Departures: The final call for ticket sales and check-in for walk-on and bicycle passengers is 15 minutes prior to the scheduled sailing departure. All travelers departing from Victoria to Port Angeles must clear US CBP (US Customs and Border Protection) prior to boarding the vessel. US CBP requires travelers to be ready for travel and in the queue at least 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time. If you arrive less than 15 minutes prior to the scheduled departure time you may be denied the opportunity to clear US CBP and therefore not be able to board the vessel.

Alternatively, ferry tickets can be purchased in advance through our website or over the phone with our packaging department (877-386-2202) for an opportunity to save on hotel and attraction tickets in the region.
